If you've been thinking about ordering blood work but aren't sure exactly how the process works, this is the full walkthrough, from browsing tests to getting your results.
Step 1: Browse and Choose Your Tests
Start by visiting the test catalogue on our site. You can browse by individual test name or by category: Performance and Recovery, Nutrition and Supplementation, Hormones and Metabolism, Longevity, and General Health.
Each test page shows you what the test measures, what sample is required (blood or urine), and the price. Add whatever you need to your cart. There's no minimum or maximum.
Step 2: Checkout and Health Questionnaire
At checkout, you'll be asked to fill out a brief health questionnaire. This isn't a medical consultation. It's a short set of questions that gives our reviewing physician the context needed to confirm your tests are appropriate.
Step 3: Physician Review
After you complete checkout, a licensed physician reviews your order. They look at the tests you've selected alongside the health background you provided to confirm everything is appropriate.
In most cases, your order is approved and the requisition is issued promptly. If the physician has a question or concern about a specific test given your health background, we'll reach out to you before proceeding.
Step 4: Get Tested at Dynacare
Once your requisition is issued, it goes directly to Dynacare. Then you visit any Dynacare location in Ontario:
- No appointment is needed. Walk in during operating hours.
- Bring a piece of government-issued ID.
- If any of your tests require fasting, schedule your visit for the morning and fast for 10-12 hours beforehand. Water is fine.
- The blood draw itself typically takes just a few minutes.
Step 5: Get Your Results
When your results are ready, we send you an email notification. Most results come back within a few business days, though some specialized tests may take longer.
Log into your secure Bespoke Labs account to view your results. Your results page shows each test with its result and the reference range, clear flags if anything falls outside the expected range, and the ability to track your results over time.
Step 6: Share Your Results (If You Want To)
Your results are yours. You can keep them private, share them with your family doctor, send them to your nutritionist, dietitian, coach, or trainer, or use them as a reference when making decisions about supplements, training, or diet.
We don't interpret results or provide medical advice. If your results raise questions, we recommend discussing them with a qualified healthcare provider.
What About Critical Results?
If any of your results fall into a critical range, meaning a value that could indicate an immediate health concern, we send an alert urging you to seek medical attention right away. This is a safety net, not a diagnosis.
